Ugh ... the backup scripts had an error and all failed last night... So I have to fix that errors and re-run them today which means a slow network for about an hour.

Not quite asleep yet but getting there.

I was browsing my news feed before dozing off and I got angry all over again at how advertisements killed RSS feeds. Almost every item required me to click through to the original website.

I know everything can’t be FOSS-like, but I should at least have the option to read the text of an article without needing to click again. Also, I hear y’all telling me to just go to the website to being with. But I like to have all my news in one place. Saves time.

Anywho, I’ve been feeling icky about TTRSS lately. I can’t explain it beyond that it gets worse when I have to read their support page(s). I think it’s time to give FreshRSS another try.

I think it's time to call it a night because I keep going in circles with ansible:

I get the whole dict when I do this:

So apparently, when I reinstalled as Notebook instead of Blog, that sort of messed things up. Which is BS. Changing it back to Blog seems to “fix” federation. Which is BS.

Wait a sec ... going to set it back to Notebook and try and see latest posts again...

Ok... back to Notebook. This should not make a difference, right?

I don't think it makes a difference for the “stuck in follow request mode”. Let's see ...

ETA: yep – no difference; post shows up but I still can't follow myself.

What I'm trying to do right now is build an ansible playbook using included tasks ... which kind of works but I want to be able to join a list of items into one text field that I can send to telegram or pushover or ... somewhere.

It's not working. I need to DDG some more...

I'm watching “The Social Network” again. And having a brainstorm. No reason to not do what this idiot does while he's innovating. “Jot” my thoughts down here as I work.

Today I woke up to a full VPS. So I had to fix that ... no big deal. Had to delete some files and trim my Nextcloud files. Filling the drive was my bad cos I did a backup ansible playbook that ran last night and pretty much used up the rest of the free space.

Which reminds me ... I really need a job of some kind because my hobby is getting expensive....

No idea how I did it ... don't know how to fix it ... so I started over. Not sure how the federation issue is going to go because now I can't follow myself from @fyrfli@bkgrdclrschm.link anymore. It just sits there “Processing ...”
